I can't invite any of my friends to my world

Whenever I make a world, I switch on multiplayer so that i can invite my friends to my world. Then when i go on the pause menu, there is no Invite to Game button!! I go to the multiplayer menu to see if it was really on or off though i had switched it on. When i opened the menu, it was off!! Please help me out!!
