Game crashes at launch when using OpenXR with SteamVR

I was excited to hear about the new update with OpenXR, so I ran to my room, grabbed my Vive hardware, and turned them on. I'm using the launch command minecraft://mode/?OpenXR=true

I can see the main menu for some seconds in my headset and them it just crashes...
Is it because is not compatible with SteamVR yet?
