Sound/music

For a while my game hasn’t been playing the music. This has been going on since I paid for the application I just overlooked it for the most part (the music is at maximum in the settings). But lately it has been not playing the sound effects either. I can’t hear creepers or things like mining noises. Usually I have to completely close the application in order to bring sound back. However sometimes I have to repeat that process several times before it starts working. Thank you for your help.
