Character Creator Doesn't Work/ Crashes Game

Opening and trying to use any functions within the Character Creator mode/ trying to edit my character freezes and then eventually crashes my Switch any time I use it. Nothing loads, so when i hit the "B" button to go back to the home menu- it won't. Then when I try closing the game, it says "error occurred within the game card" and just crashes completely.
