Soul sand elevator breaks when you extract water from it with a dispenser

When you take water from a soul sand elevator with a dispenser, the bubbles remain and the pushing up effect continues, if you do this at the top of the elevator and bounce for a while on this non existent water, you take damage and it’s even possible to instantly die when you hit the ground that’s only 2 blocks below you!
