PS4 and Switch Crossplay

I am trying to crossplay with a switch player. However, every time I try to load in I get the message "Unable to connect to world." The patch notes state that 1.16.100 (PS4) and 1.16.101 (Switch) should be compatible, however it seems there is a bug that prevents this.
