Potion of invisibility doesnt work on piglin brute

a piglin brute killed me outside of a bastion. My plan was to go back With an invisibility potion so i wouldnt be seen in or around the bastion. A brute came still and killed me even with the invisibility effect on. I was wearing gold and chain armor but i didnt open chests, i was not near a brute when he came and killed me, and he did it anyway.
