Pillager captain won't stop following.

So for some reason when the pillager captain sees me he follows me but never stops chasing me. I tested it out and went away about 100 blocks and i soon saw him following.

Usually mobs stop following you once you are far away enough, but the villager captain following me, even over the ocean.
