Invisible mobs, esp in nether

Since the 1.16.100 update I have been regularly encountering invisible mobs, usually in the nether.  Cannot see or hit the mobs, only block their attacks.  Can tell just by blocking the attacks/sounds/ hit impact that the he majority of the time it is skeletons, but have also encountered endermen.  Also, when I close the game and reload, the mob is usually visible.  I've also seen visible mobs that aren't no longer in the same location. I have shot dozens of arrows through ghasts that appear on the screen and was even followed by a zombie that couldn't be hit.  Can post the captured video of the zombie once I get home to my console.  Overall the game is way more laggy and crashing a lot since the .100 update.
