Switch Edition will not update to latest version

Hello, my Nintendo Switch Version will not update. It appears to be stuck at version 1.16.100. As a result I am no longer able to join multiplayer games with Friends as I receive an error indicating "outdated server". Their World appears to be version 1.16.4.  I see that Switch should be up to that version and I was playing multiplayer only a few days ago.  I tried to update the software through the Switch menu but it says that I already have the latest version.  I also have the physical copy of the game if that matters.

Any suggestions?
