Minecraft not updating from 1.16.40 to 1.16.100

Hello,

 

My minecraft app will not update form 1.16.40 to 1.16.100. I have run the update on it and have tried some other basic things. Please help me to update to the  newest version. I have discussed this with others and they too have seen the same issue.
