Cannot connect to Realms

I cannot connect to Realms or any servers while on 4/5G despite the "Allow Cellular" option being enabled. I get the error "you must be connected to wifi to play with friends"

 

I am now paying for a realms server that I cannot access, as of this 1.16.100 update.
