Servers need wifi now?

Attempting to join a server of friends world using data no long is working I can only join my worlds I find it very upsetting how it wasn’t doing this before Minecraft updated to 1.16.100 I would be very great full to the person/people that fix the issue that happened after the update. (I have all the stuff I need for being able to play with data on and I tried all the things I could think of to try to fix it without messing with the app itself, I’ve closed the app, rest my phone, changed the setting, I even deleted the app then reinstalled it to see if it worked which it didn’t)
