1.16.100 performance considerably worse compared to 1.16.40

Minecraft's performance is considerably worse on 1.16.100, impacting the gameplay negatively. (I had to lower my chunk rendering down to 8, and disable smooth lighting, and my FPS still regularly dips below ~25)
