Cant play with friends unless connected to wifi

There was an update today. I updated my game and made my way on my realm that me and a friend paid for, it says i can't play with my friends unless i connect to wifi. but i have my data on to play instead. What's the point and having that option if i can't even play minecraft without wifi? how will i be able to refund my money if this isn't fixed?
