Won't let me play.

I just got Minecraft Pocket Edition yesterday. I figured out I could play using my cellular data, since I don't have wifi. I was playing multiplayer and servers just fine. Today, when I wanted to join my friends realm, it said I needed to update to 1.16.100. When it updated, I opened the app and tried to join my friends realm again but it said I could only play with wifi even though I was using cellular data. Is this a bug? Or did you take out the option to play with cellular data? Please let me know soon.
