Missing invite button in PS4 v1.16.61

I login today but unable to send an invite to my online friend who is on xbox. I have ps plus and connected my microsoft account in Minecraft for ps4. this is the first time that the invite button is missing. The multiplayer settings is also disabled/greyed out—I can't turn disable/enable it. Please help. Thanks.
