Game says I am not connected to PSN even though I am.

I cannot play multiplayer on PS4 Minecraft because the game claims I am not signed into PlayStation network even through I clearly am.  I am currently speaking with my friends in a party. I have been trying all day and am very frustrated because this has never happened before.
