Multiplayer issue

When attempting to enter a friends world I am stuck on the loading screen. The loading screen is still loading and only says connecting to server. It never loads. They said my character loads in but I can’t actually see anything or do anything. When entering my own worlds everything works and loads. It only gets stuck on the loading screen for multiplayer. Although I can access servers without difficulty. This wasn’t an issue until yesterday the 3rd of November.
