My netherite pickaxe vanished (didn’t have curse of vanishing)

So today in my survival world I was about to go strip mining for diamonds so I got out my netherite pickaxe which had mending and something else as soon as I got it out my chest my game crashed and when I rejoined my netherite pickaxe was no where to be seen I checked my chests but it wasn’t there it just vanished or something
