can't see health and hunger bars

i can't see the health or hunger bars and i have the HUD opacity all the way up but they're just not there. I think it is because i got a new phone and it asked something about the display or zoom when i opened the app and i didn't know what it meant and thought it would be fine. i remember it being about adjusting the corners and i've dug through the settings and can't figure out how to change it
