Nether portal system

So basically, I want to make a nether system in my world going from a stronghold back to my base and I want to travel there in the nether so it's quicker.

I arrived at the stronghold and built the portal, when I went in, it took me to my base nether, not a new bit. I was expecting to be in a new chunk in the nether so then I could make a path to and from my base portal to the stronghold portal.

 

this doesn't only happen in one world, it happens in realms as well

 

Please get this annoying bug fixed ASAP
