Missing items

Honest really upset

this glitch in the BETA version Is game breaking. I've lost awesome enchanted books, sugar cane and leather which I need for my enchantment table and also a lot of my tools to this glitch. When I put items in a chest and then leave the game straight after, the next time I log in, the items I put in the chest before I left the world disappear. 
look I love this game and I'm not going to give up on it so please fix it so I can keep playing comfortably, I beg.
