The bug of item in box disappeared

Hi! I have a box that place far far away from my house. It is normally beyond 300 blocks away from me. I put a lot of enchanted weapon in it, but yesterday when I go check them, I saw most of them were missing, just disappear. My world didn't share with anyone since June, please explain that how could this happened ASAP, thank you very much.☺
