It won't let me make torches and it won't let me eat melons or cooked cod

I'm trying to make torches and I have everything I need to make them but it won't let me make them. It also won't let me eat melons o me cooked cod. And on all of my food it shows item.minecraft:cooked_chicken.name it started like 2 weeks ago and I kept playing thinking it would go away but it hasn't gone away.
