nether portals spawn rapidly already lit

We made a nether portal and we were already in the nether we wanted to go back home  but we spawned where the world spawn was with a never seen nether portal and it was lit then we went back and forth in and out of the nether portal where we spawned 2 different places near an ocean and in a cave which we also found diamonds and other ores.
