Issues with dispensers not dispensing items

I'm having issues with dispensers not dispensing items when used in redstone contraptions. At first I thought it was just my own fault, but I've done several tests, and it just doesn't activate. Is this a bug? Are more people having this issue on PS4 or other platforms? If so, please patch this.
