Double chest can hide GUI

This only happens randomly, but I first discovered it when I made a double chest then broke one half; the other half opens instantly without me right-clicking it, and then when I do right click it it does not make the chest opening sound, but closes with the sound and then everything is normal again, with the chest working as intended.
