Jurrasic world capture dinosaurs

I cannot capture a sleeping dinosaur. I place the transport crate right next to the sleeping baby dinosaur and the crate dissappears from my inventory and the dinosaur remains. I tried a new save and same exact problem. It makes the game mostly unplayable.
