ANIMALS! are despawning after saving the world on PS4

Summary:

We have been receiving reports that customers have been losing all their ANIMALS! when they reloaded the map after saving and resuming the world. ANIMALS! spawn eggs are also missing from the creative inventory menu.  Or the world fails to load all together. This has started happening on multiple devices.

We have not been able to reproduce this issue on any device.

Affected Versions are PS4, Nintendo Switch, Android and Xbox with 80% of the reports coming from the PS4.

Impact:

Our customers are unable to play our maps as intended and we are getting a large amount of feedback to our Support page asking for reimbursement for selling a broken map.

 

Repro Steps:

We have been unable to reproduce any of these reports on any of the devices reported. 

We took the following steps when attempting to reproduce the issue.

1. Install and create a copy of ANIMALS! 
2. Exit the game spawn and walk outside and witness all the ANIMALS! outside
3. Save and Quit the map 
4. Restart the map and witness the ANIMALS! have disappeared (or in our case all the ANIMALS! are still there and they continue to be there every time you check)

 

Observed Results:

Our customers report coming back into the world and all the ANIMALS! Have despawned and no spawn eggs are found in their inventory. Our team did not Observe these results.

 

Expected Results:

We expect the ANIMALS! to not despawn so our customers are able to enjoy the Zoo’s they have built.

Unknown. This bug started as soon as the PS4 version was released.

Still reports continue to come in and it seems to be spreading to different devices.
