Player held items are not rendered when model is overriden

Partner Rank:

2

Partner Team Reporting:

Gamemode One

Verification builds:

1.13.0.34

Summary:

When the player model is overriden by a resource pack, held items are not rendered.

Impact:

We're unable to show what item the player has selected when using a custom model.

Repro Steps:

  1. Download the attached resource pack.
  2. Create a world with it enabled.
  3. Switch camera to front facing third person.
  4. Put a sword in your hotbar and select that slot.
  5. Observe the tall head and lack of sword rendered in your hand.

Observed Results:

Items do not render when the player is holding them.

Expected Results:

Held items render near the hands where the leftItem and rightItem bones are.

Screenshots/Videos attached: Yes/No

Yes. I have included a screenshot showing my "tallhead" model holding an unrendered sword.

Regression Builds:

This did not occur in 1.3.0.4

Notes:

I have overridden the player model with a copy of the default player model called "humanoid.custom.tallhead". The only change is that I have made the head twice as tall. Aside from that, the model is identical to the default player.

**I am greatly editing the body of this issue because I have found that this bug is not what I though it was initially. It is a very closely related issue though.

Won't Fix
