Summary:
When must_reach is added to the "attack nearest" component, the mob takes a good few seconds before attacking a mob.
Impact:
This makes must_reach less than ideal to use. must_reach shouldn't have any impact on speed of attack or anything and makes it much less desirable to use. Unfortunately, there are no workarounds for this if we don't want mobs to attack things out of reach.
Repro Steps:
- Download the repro world from greg
- Press the first button
- When you kill them, they turn into more of the same mob, kill those too
- press the second button
- When you kill them, they turn into more of the same mob, kill those too
Observed Results:
The mobs with family ecru (the first ones with must_reach on their attack component) stand around and are super slow to attack the player
the mobs with silo family, the second ones, attack the player right away as intended.
Expected Results:
both families of mobs should attack the player right away even when must_reach is included. The only difference is if must_reach isn't included then the mobs should obviously not target the player if they can't reach them.
