say command doesn't handle [] well

Summary:

When the first word in /say that starts with: '['
its stops the command and outputs the following error:

for example: 
/say [this] is an example text

This doesn't happen when the there is another word before it without a square bracket:

but still errors when starting with a space character:
/say  [this] is an example text
