Summary:
When the second player is teleported to an unloaded part of the world, Redstone components are not functional in a way that is consistent with Phantom Redstone (MCM-109). Buttons do not function, and repeaters do not take or pass a signal. Breaking and replacing these components makes them work properly again.
Impact:
The player is unable to use any Redstone mechanic if a second player teleports to the area first, where the Redstone is situated. This prevents Noxcrew’s Grid Runners from being played under these circumstances. Other buttons non-essential to gameplay are also affected, which is confusing to the player.
This is also a wide scale problem for any future content, can impact every aspect of the store.
Repro Steps:
- Load up Grid Runners from the store. (Make sure it's version 1.0.5)
- The first player starts the map and does nothing.
- Let a second player connect (This player should spawn in the Introduction lobby where the first player is)
- The second Player presses the ‘Press me to start’ button
- Wait 10 seconds
- The first player presses the ‘Press me to start’ button
- The first player goes to the start button for the IRON course (location 279 81 571)
- Press the button to start the IRON course.
- Observer the button is not functional.
Observed Results:
Redstone components are not functional when a second connected player teleports to a location. Specifically, the buttons and repeaters described above.
Expected Results:
Redstone components should always work.
