Clouds texture can't be HD
Verification builds: 1.1.0 Windows 10 (Live)
Summary:
Clouds texture can't be HD. Only the 256x256 square is took in account for the clouds.png and clouds are same size as vanilla clouds, even if the texture is 2048x2048 (instead of 256x256). On Minecraft Java, if the texture is bigger, clouds are smaller in game (more dense).
Impact:
Textures Pack can't have custom HD clouds
Repro Steps:
1. Replace "clouds.png" by a new bigger texture
2. Look at sky and see that the clouds have exact same size as before
Observed Results:
Clouds are same size, not more dense = can't be HD
Expected Results:
Clouds should be smaller if texture "clouds.png" is bigger. If clouds.png is 512x512, clouds in game should be 2x smaller (because vanilla "clouds.png" is 256x256).
