[Affects Live Content] The Return of Phantom Redstone? (and other relog issues)
Tested in 798227 but I can confirm it happens in 1.2.11 and possibly earlier.
Summary:
Upon exiting a world and coming back, a lot of strange behavior occurs. In my observations, this includes but is not limited to:
- Not saving the player's location and pulling them back to a much earlier point in the map (despite other things having been saved)
- Restarting redstone (return of phantom redstone?)
- Redstone giving false positives (redstone and components)
- Entities duplicating although this might just be a result of the repeated redstone.
While I'm only able to get these behaviors to happen sometimes, in testing our map, Moesh says he got 100% reproduction rate of returning to a previous point on every relog.* The strange thing is it was always the same two points.* Even though those two points were extremely far away from where he logged off.
Impact:
Tremendous impact. This means that in order to have stable content, all content must be played in one session. If a player relogs and is put farther back in the map, there is no way to recover without a developer intervening. If a player relogs and redstone runs twice, it can also break the map. Every single adventure map uses redstone in some way.
Repro Steps:
I can't tell you exactly but I've attached some video content that reproduces certain behaviors (I was unable to get the player location part on video).
Expected Results:
Everything should be just as you left it when you return to the world.

Notes:
World is in slack for testing (or on the submission email). Video recorded in world version 1.0.1 re-exported in the 1.2.13 build.
Moesh has 100% repro rate with the warping issue.
