Summary: Microsoft Store auto-updates installed dev client, overwriting the dev client with retail. Today, when rebooting, we were unable to open Minecraft at all.
Impact: Unable to open Minecraft. Productivity loss.
Repro Steps:
1. Use a Microsoft account that has purchased retail Minecraft before (but never downloaded onto the PC).
2. Install dev client.
3. Over a period of several days, observe that you may be downgraded to a retail client, or experience entire corruption of your installation to the point where Minecraft will no longer open.
Observed Results:
On two different days:
Outcome 1: Downgraded to retail. No longer able to use dev commands, no-clip, etc.
Outcome 2: Total corruption of the Minecraft Bedrock installation.
Expected Results:
Dev client remains installed and stable, without being overwritten automatically by the Microsoft Store.
