Graphical Artifacts on Entities Using Semi-Transparent Custom Materials

Entities using semi-transparent materials defined in material.json exhibit odd graphical artifacts, resembling Z-fighting but confirmed not to be. The issue impacts multiple entities sharing the same semi-transparent material, leading to significantly degraded visual quality.

Repro Steps:

  1. Define a semi-transparent material in entity.material in the "materials" folder.
  2. Apply this material to multiple entity models in a Minecraft world via render controllers.
  1. Observe the entities from various angles and distances in-game to see the effects.

Observed Results: Entities exhibit unexpected graphical artifacts, such as flickering and visual noise, which degrade the visual quality. These artifacts resemble Z-fighting, though it has been confirmed that Z-fighting is not the cause.

Expected Results: Entities with semi-transparent materials should render smoothly without any graphical artifacts, maintaining high visual quality consistent with other elements in the game.

Screenshots/Videos attached: Yes

Notes: This issue has been reproduced across various devices and platforms, indicating it is not platform-specific. It poses a significant problem for content involving semi-transparent textures or effects, such as ghost characters, magical effects, glass on vehicles and custom entities, or anything requiring a level of opacity of less than 100%.
