Summary:
Particle Collision no longer works when emitted from entity. Particles instead glitch around in the air. When the emitter is created using the particle command, the collision works correctly. This used to work in 1.16.
Impact:
This breaks some effects on live content (Monsters++) and makes development for upcoming content more challenging and time consuming.
Repro Steps:
- Load the attached mcaddon into a world
- Spawn the Particle Test entity using spawn egg or summon command
Observed Results:
The particles that were emitted from the entity glitch around in the air, then fall through the ground. This can also be seen in the attached video on the left.
Expected Results:
The particles should land smoothly on the ground. This can be seen by running the same particle effect via:
/particle x11:test ~ ~ ~
