Multiline messages with unicode characters are spaced way too big now

Summary: Messages sent to chat that contain custom characters now get way too much vertical padding for each line, making them annoying to read. This broke between 1.18.10 and 1.18.20.

Impact: Ugly hard to read messages makes user experience sad.

1. Open chat

    This is a test really long message that should actually look okay.
