light blocks now have an invisible hitbox in adventure mode & player cannot interact beyond them.
Partner Rank: 2
Verification builds:
1.17.20.22 Win10
Summary:
light blocks now have an invisible hitbox in adventure mode & player cannot interact beyond/through them.
Impact:
light blocks are supposed to be invisible and non interactable in adventure mode. this includes pressing buttons, hitting entities etc. the recent change made it so you cannot press buttons behind light blocks or hit entities which breaks functionality in maps including:
Papercraft 2
Sakura Shores by Imagiverse
Repro Steps 100%:
- Open Papercraft 2
- switch to creative mode
- teleport to -424 104 333
- press the buttons
- switch to adventure mode
- press the buttons
Alternate Repro Steps 100%:
- Open attached testing world "light block"
- press the button
Observed Results:
you will not be able to press the button in adventure mode
Expected Results:
you should be able to press the button in adventure mode. light blocks are supposed to be non-interactable
Screenshots/Videos attached: images show the test world light_block while in creative mode. however in adventure mode the hitbox doesnt show up but you are still unable to press the button.

Notes:* This breaks at least one part in papercraft 2 but will affect any map that uses light blocks at all. You are unable to punch or interact with mobs behind light blocks which is the antithesis of why they were added in the first place. likely a result of the new feature which has caused this issue.
