Brewing Stand input slot accepts item stacks

Partner Rank: 4

Partner Team Reporting: Starfish Studios

Verification builds: 1.16.221.01

Summary:
Brewing Stand input slot accepts multiple items.

Impact:
This may cause the lose of items if using a behavior pack that contain custom recipes using stackable items in the input slot, since the brewing stand only brews one item in each input slot each time, what means that the use of multiple items in one slot would still result in only one brewed item.

Repro Steps:

  1. Create a "minecraft:recipe_brewing_mix" recipe that uses stackable items (e.g. glass bottle) in the input slot.
  2. Try to drop multiple items in the input slot of the brewing stand.

Repro Rate: 3/3

Observed Results:
Multiple items can be dropped in the input slot although the brewing stand only brews one item on each slot per time.

Expected Results:
The player should not be able to drop multiple items in one input slot of the brewing stand, it should accept only one item if trying to put multiple ones.

Additional information:

Update: 1.19.0.24 - R19 Beta has set the stack limit for brewing station result slot to 1. After testing here, I found a small adjustment that may be done for it to be 100%.

When left-clicking the slot with multiple items selected, it will simply deny instead of accepting one item unity and then returning the rest of the stack to the player selection. Players must have only one item in their selection to be accepted by the brewing slot. This prevents the player from simply dragging the stack through the slots if playing with touch controls, and causes a need to separate one item from the stack to be accepted.
