Transparentattachable tag makes attachables invisible in both first and third perspective.
Partner Rank:
1
Summary:
Within TerraSwoopForce changes in the .220 update make the helmets render in first person perspective blocking player's sight. The proposed tag to prevent this happening subsequently causes the third person perspective to also unrender.
Verification builds and Platforms:
1.16.220.51 #5599922
Impact:
This prevents players from being able to see their suit in TerraSwoopForce. This can cause confusion to the players, they may believe they don’t have the suit on, but part of the gameplay requires the players to “hand it over” which they might not believe they have it.
Repro Steps:
- Download and play TerraSwoopforce V1.2.0 on the R5 release
- Open the world and type the following “/function playerManagement/inventory/red”
- Change to third person and observe how the suit does not render
- Open the inventory and observe the armour has been equipped
Observed Results:
Using the tag makes the attachable unrender in both first and third person.
Expected Results:
We can use the tag to support not rendering in first, third or both perspectives.
Screenshots/Videos attached:
Yes, which showcases when the armour is on nothing is rendered on the player
Regression Builds:
Inception or 1.16.210.05_rc4 (when the tag did not exist)
Notes:
This tag was provided to us by the devs as a solution to preventing the first person perspective from rendering in TerraSwoopForce (which made it unplayable). The tag however also unrenders the armour in third person. This is undesirable behaviour as it will lead players to not be aware they have armour on causing confusion in multiple areas of the content. We’re hoping for a tag which supports us being able to choose which perspectives it renders/unrenders in
