1.16.200.02_rc2 Update 2 (minecraft_uwp_renderdragon_x64_win10_5080499_release)
Summary:
Custom edible items play their eating animation and sound properly to the host of the world, but connected clients do not see the first person animations of themselves eating custom food. Both the host and connected clients can see the animations of others eating custom food items.
Impact:
Confusing lack of feedback for connected clients. We have a mini-game where you need to give food to NPCs, and testers were getting confused at why they gave the item to the NPC, but the NPC didn't take it. After about 8 instances of this happening in multiplayer but never having the host witness it, we realized they were accidentally eating the custom food instead of handing it to the NPC, hence the issue.
Repro Steps:
- Create a custom food item and give it the ability to be eaten: "minecraft:use_animation": "eat"
- Open a world and connect another player to it
- Give both players your custom food item
- Have both players eat the custom food item
Observed Results:
The eating animation plays to the host, but not the connected client.
Expected Results:
The eating animation plays to both the host and connected client
