Summary:
When playing a looping particle effect in a state of an animation controller, and then turning off the animation controller with a MoLang expression, the particle effect keeps playing even though the animation controller is no longer active.
Impact:
Makes it more difficult to create certain animations that rely on particles
Repro Steps:
- Install the attached resource pack (the pack contains a demo using a cow and an is_on_ground query)
- Join a world with the resource pack installed
- Spawn a vanilla cow
- Punch the cow so that it loses ground contact
Observed Results:
The rainbow effect starts playing when the cow loses contact to the ground, but does not stop when the cow lands again. Instead it plays indefinitely.
Expected Results:
The particle effect should start playing when the cow loses contact to the ground, but stop immediately when it's on the ground again.
