Tame wolf teleports through Nether Portals are messed up

Partner Rank: 3 - Normal

Verification Builds: 1.16.100

Regression Builds: N/A

Summary: Tamed wolves usually teleport with you when crossing a Nether Portal. Sometimes, when going from Nether to Overworld, instead of teleporting to your Overworld Portal coordinates, they teleport in the Overworld but at the coordinates of the Portal in the Nether.

Affects currently Live Content: No, we have a map in review at the moment that will be affected by this.

Impact: I only recently experienced this bug while testing in multiplayer on my local save. The map is currently in review but I'm expecting this bug to affect the live version as well.

Repro Steps:

  1. Start a new map and go away from coordinates 0,0 so that there is a considerable difference between the Nether coordinates and the Overworld coordinates.
  2. Make a Nether portal and preferably synchronize the 2 portals so there are no issues with creating new portals.
  3. Invite a friend in your world and each tame a wolf.
  4. Go together through the portals at the same time and see if the wolves teleport with you or not.

Observed Results:

Let's say you go at 8000x8000 in the overworld. That means 1000x1000 in the Nether. When teleporting back in the overworld, if you dogs are missing, just teleport to 1000x1000 in the overworld, and you should find your wolves.

Expected Results:

Wolves should teleport to you every time.
