Summary:
Repeatedly teleporting players no longer freeze in place and teleporting every tick doesn't prevent the player from moving horizontally. On previous builds when teleporting a player to themselves every tick would lock the player in place and not allow them to move at all. Now they can move, resulting in damage to the player, breaking various maps.
As an example, on the map A Nightmare in Candyworld in singleplayer when trying to start the map during the intro the teleportation function makes the player take damage if the player moves at all.
In multiplayer it starts to affect the second player even when standing still, they begin to take damage immediately and that throws them off course sending them hurtling towards nothing, forever.
Impact:
The teleportation function has changed and no longer prevents the player from moving after every tick breaking various maps.
Repro Steps:
Start up a fresh copy of the map A Nightmare in Candyworld from the Minecraft Marketplace
- Unlock creator settings and activate cheats
- Start the map and press the Super Easy button twice to open the door in front of you.
- Walk out over the bridge and push the button on the other side twice to begin the map
- In single player try and move in any direction until you begin to take damage.
- In multiplayer simply push the button and watch it occur
Observed Results:
When teleporting through the intro of the map the player is sent off into a different direction than intended.
Expected Results:
For the player to teleport through the path the map developer intended.
