Summary:
Interactions with minecraft:rideable take precedence over minecraft:tameable.
This means right-clicking a rideable entity with an item that can be used to tame it will now make you ride the entity instead of feed it. To tame it, the player now has to crouch to feed the item. This didn't use to be the case; in 1.14 you were able to simply feed the item if you had it in your hand.
Note that this is the case with minecraft:tameable, not with other feeding-related components like minecraft:ageable and minecraft:tamemount with feed_items.
Impact:
This makes it annoying to tame horses in Knight School, particularly because the tutorial teaches the player to tame horses by just interacting with an apple in hand.
Now, if the players follow the instructions that the map tells them, they'll be stuck in the first 3 minutes of the map; being unable to tame a horse, and possibly quit if they don't think to crouch.
Repro Steps:
- Open a fresh copy of Knight School and walk outside (flip the lever to open the door).
- Talk to the NPC to get some apples.
- Right-click (interact) with a horse with the apples in hand.
Observed Results:
You start riding the horse.
Expected Results:
You feed the horse.
