My minecraft crashes when i press play after the launcher

When i load the minecraft launcher and press play it will load the mojang screen then say "Page not responding" then when i force exit the page it will say "An unexpected issue has occured and the game has crashed. Sorry for the inconvenience". I dont know what happened it has been working fine for a while.
