No game sound when launching any version earlier than 1.7.3

Hi,
So recently I tried to run an older version of Minecraft, release 1.0, Once the game opened I clicked through the menus no sound effects nor in game. I have reseted the Minecraft directory folder to see if it was some corrupted file, but no use. I have tested every version below 1.7.3 and the sound won't work. Any release 1.7.3 or newer everything is fine. I assume this has to to do with the game files not downloading correctly.
